Every title gets a verdict, from Recommended to Avoid, and one age. The age is the strictest of the age ratings we use, so it is never lower than any of them. Effect on the soul is our score from −10 to +10 for how a story is likely to shape faith and character.

Every review lists its sources. AI agents built on Claude do the research and writing. New reviews are also checked by an AI reader against the Catechism and Church documents before they go live. The family behind Lumen sets the rules and decides the hard cases. Lumen is an independent project, not an official publication of the Church.
