Our review

Amos is a mouse who lives in an old church. He moves into Benjamin Franklin's fur cap and becomes his helper and friend. Amos says he thought up many of Franklin's famous ideas, but he is a boastful mouse, so the story is mostly a joke. It is a funny, made-up tale about a real man, with nothing a parent must correct beyond telling fact from fun. Age 8+, set by the low end of SuperSummary's 8-12 range.

For parents

Age 8+, set by the low end of the 8-12 range given by the SuperSummary guide (Redeemed Reader lists reading level 8-10); no Common Sense Media book review was found. Read it aloud from about 6. Tell your child it is a joke: Amos is a boaster, and the real Franklin made his own inventions. Ask how Amos's pride gets him in trouble.
