Cabrini
Acceptable with guidance. Age: 13+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
Mother Cabrini feeds, houses and heals children no one else wanted, and she will not take no for an answer. The works of mercy fill the screen, and the film is handsome and well acted. The reservation is serious. Her love of Jesus, which drove everything she did, is nearly silent. She comes across as a strong woman with a cause more than a saint in love with Christ.
For parents
For teens and adults. Children die, a girl is beaten by a pimp, and Italians are called ugly names. Tell your children what the film leaves out: her prayer and her love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Ask: where did her strength come from? Is 'men could never do what we do' how a saint talks?
