Chariots of Fire
Recommended. Age: 11+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
A man gives up his best shot at Olympic gold because the race falls on the Lord's Day. He will not bend for a prince, and he is not bitter about it. Few films show faith costing something this plainly. One reservation: there is a brief shot of rear nudity in a shower, and the athletes drink and smoke a good deal.
For parents
Good for the whole family, though the slow pace suits ages ten and up best. Know about the brief rear nudity in a shower scene. Ask: why did Eric refuse to run on Sunday? How do we keep the Lord's Day holy in our house? Why does Harold run?
