Our review

Four men from Jamaica decide to enter the Winter Olympics as a bobsled team. They have never seen snow. A coach who once cheated trains them, and they learn to work together. It is a funny underdog story about honesty and pride in who you are. The one age is 8, set by Common Sense Media (PG). Expect a bar brawl, some mild swearing, and a few uses of God's name as an exclamation.

For parents

One age: 8, set by Common Sense Media (PG; Kids-In-Mind 0.2.2). No Church rating found. Talk about it: Irv was disqualified for cheating and later works as a bookie; Common Sense logs a brief cartoon-style bar brawl, a lingering kiss at a kissing booth played for laughs, some innuendo, beer drinking, and mild profanity including 'God' and 'Jesus Christ' as exclamations. A newsreel headline mentions a bobsledder killed in a crash, and the sled crashes on screen. Common Sense also notes some racial clichΓ©s and the outdated word 'Eskimos'. The team faces prejudice from rivals. Plugged In could not be fetched. Ask: Why did Irv cheat, and what did he learn? What does it mean to 'finish with pride'?
