Our review
The film skewers greed, lying and political power, and that target is just. But its mockery of prayer, Scripture and a staged miracle, its cheered suicide and its flat despair work against faith, hope and charity. No one models real virtue. The satire is sharp, yet it leaves the soul emptier, not freer.
For parents
Not for children or most teens; the one age is 17, set by the R rating. Common Sense Media says 15+. For adults who watch it, ask why mocking hypocrites differs from mocking prayer, and how a society should treat a life lost to despair (CCC 2282).
