Father Elijah: An Apocalypse
Recommended. Age: 16+. A Catholic review of this book for parents.
Our review
A priest named Father Elijah lived through a terrible war and became a monk. The Pope sends him on a secret mission to a powerful man who may be the enemy of Christ. Elijah must stay faithful and try to call this man back to God. Some critics found it slow and preachy. The one age is 16, set by Lumen's own reading age. No outside age rating was found.
For parents
Age 16+, set by Lumen's independent reading age. Read ahead first: reviews mention a Rome full of pornography and violence and the hero's temptations, but none confirms whether any scene is explicit. Ask: why does Elijah try to save the President? What keeps a soul faithful?
