Henry Huggins
Acceptable. Age: 8+. A Catholic review of this book for parents.
Our review
Henry Huggins is a boy in Portland who finds a stray dog and names him Ribsy. Having a dog is hard work, so Henry earns money and learns to take care of him. At the end another boy says Ribsy is his, and Henry has to let the dog choose. This is a warm, funny story about responsibility, with nothing a parent must correct. The one thing to talk about is Henry's try at a fake sick note. Age 8, set by Plugged In's 8 to 12 range; no Common Sense Media book review was found.
