Hernán
Caution. Age: 17+. A Catholic review of this show for parents.
Our review
A well-made look at the conquest of Mexico, with a strong lead and real effort at historical detail. But Cortés is driven by ambition and appetite, the violence is graphic, and reviewers say the Church's mission barely appears. It gives adults history to think about, not hope to hold.
For parents
Adults only, age 17+, set by the TV-MA rating and Lumen's own call. The Catholic classification is not on file. Watch it with history in hand. Ask what Cortés's conduct says about conquest without the cross, and what the Church teaches about the equal dignity of every person, including the peoples Cortés met (CCC 1934).
