Our review
The Parr family all have superpowers, but they have to hide them and live like everyone else. When a villain named Syndrome traps Dad on an island, Mom and the kids go to save him. They win by working together as a family. The fights are loud and intense, so it is best for kids about eight and up. This is a film that treats marriage and fatherhood as the real adventure. Bob's restlessness and his lies to Helen nearly cost him everything, and he says so. Expect a real body count off screen, a villain who murders heroes, and children shot at by armed guards.

PG, and Common Sense Media says eight and up. Greydanus says Kids & Up, with a caveat for intense action. Plugged In would hold it for teens because of the violence, so preview it for a sensitive child. Things to frame: Bob lies to Helen about his job and his night work, and the film shows the harm that does. Helen briefly suspects an affair that is not happening. Heroes die off screen, and a man's suicide attempt is stopped in the opening. Ask: what did Bob want more than his family at the start, and what changed? Why did Syndrome turn bad after Mr. Incredible brushed him off? Are gifts for showing off or for serving others? Why did Dash's mother ask him to hold back, and was she right?
