Our review
Pooh is a bear who loves honey and lives in the Hundred Acre Wood with his friends. He gets stuck in Rabbit's door, lives through a very windy day, and meets bouncy Tigger. His friends always help him. It is gentle and good for even the littlest children. This is about as safe and sweet as a film gets. Friends put up with each other's faults and come to the rescue, and the ending, with Christopher Robin going off to school, is quietly moving. There is nothing here to correct, only small things to talk over.
For parents
G, and Common Sense Media says three and up. Greydanus calls it a timeless family classic for very young viewers. Common Sense Media notes only mild peril (bees chase Pooh, friends get stuck in trees) and a toy gun in one scene. Things to talk over: Pooh eats all of Rabbit's honey and gets stuck because of it. Rabbit loses patience with Tigger and plots to lose him in the woods, which backfires. Eeyore is always gloomy and hard on himself, and his friends keep including him anyway. Ask: what happens when Pooh takes too much? How do the friends treat Eeyore when he is sad? Was Rabbit right to trick Tigger? Why is Christopher Robin going to school, and what does he ask Pooh to promise?
