Our review
The sequel keeps the original's moral: people over possessions, and a father who has to remember his own children. Grief is handled gently, and the magic is pure storybook, Oz mode, nothing occult. The reservation is that its consolation stops at the stars. Where the Lost Things Go tells a grieving child that mother is in the moon's glow, with no God behind it. Lovely, but not enough.
For parents
All ages. Watch it together and finish the thought the film leaves open: where is their mother really, and who holds her? Then talk about the banker who smiled while stealing, and why Michael's honesty mattered more than winning. Two mild double-meaning jokes pass over small children's heads.
