Our review
Friends who risk everything for one another is a good story, and the film tells it with loud stunts and some warmth. But it presents two men raising three children as a married couple, and as simply normal, which crosses a line that by itself makes a title Not recommended. Add 17 misuses of God's and Jesus' names and frequent killing, and the toy-car name badly misleads families.
For parents
Not recommended, and not for kids despite the Matchbox name. If your teen has seen it, start with loyalty: who stood up for Ted when he was bullied? Then be clear: every person deserves respect, and marriage is the union of a man and a woman (CCC 1601, 2357-2359). Ask why God's name deserves reverence.
