Acceptable with guidance. Age: 18+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.

Our review

Few films take faith this seriously. A family of believers and doubters is broken by death, and a child's trust opens the way for God to raise the dead. It asks whether we really believe. The reservation is the frame. The world is Danish Lutheran, the man who works the miracle is mad and calls himself Christ, and viewers could take faith as a formula.

For parents

Adults, per the A-III, and mature older teens with a parent. It is slow, subtitled, and has a harrowing childbirth. Ask: whose faith does God answer, and why a child's? Explain that miracles are God's free gift, not a prize for believing hard enough, and that Johannes is ill, not Christ.
