Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry
Acceptable. Age: 13+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
A tight tribute to discipline, practice and humble work, with Curry as a steady, likable model. It builds natural virtue and nothing against the faith. The honest reservation is that it never questions its hero, never says that skill is not an end in itself, and says little about the deeper sources of his character. Language includes an f-word.
For parents
Good for teens who love basketball. Expect brief strong language, one f-word, and a family whiskey toast. Ask: what does it take to get good at something? Is being excellent the same as being good? Age 13+, set by the PG-13 rating; Common Sense Media says 11+.
