Our review
Pulp Fiction tells three crime stories in Los Angeles that loop around each other. Two hit men, a boxer, and a gangster's wife all get into deep trouble in one long day. One hit man decides God has spared his life and he wants to change. This movie is for grown-ups only and is not for kids or teens. Age 18, set by Lumen's Adults rating. The craft is extraordinary, but the film makes murder, heroin and filthy talk feel stylish and funny. Jules's turn is real: he reads his survival as God's act, spares a robber and vows to quit killing. But his Ezekiel 25:17 speech is mostly invented, and God's name is abused throughout. Lumen says Not recommended.
For parents
Age 18, set by Lumen's Adults rating (Common Sense Media 17+, MPA R). If a teen has seen it, talk. Open a Bible to Ezekiel 25:17: only its last two lines echo the verse. Ask: what does Jules give up, and what does he still not see? Why does the film make us laugh after a killing?
