Restless Heart: The Confessions of Saint Augustine
Acceptable with guidance. Age: 13+. A Catholic review of this show for parents.
Our review
Augustine is a smart young man who wants fame and pleasure more than God. His mother Monica prays for him for many years. In the end he turns to Christ and becomes a bishop who stays with his people in a city under attack. It is a sincere introduction to a great saint, but it invents a massacre of Christians that, per Christianity Today, never happened.
For parents
Ages 13 and up, set by Lumen's own call. Movieguide reports battle scenes, soldiers attacking Christians, a Caesarean birth cut short, one obscenity, drinking and sexual suggestion without explicit activity. His son simply vanishes from the plot. Tell teens his real conversion came through Ambrose, prayer and a fight with lust.
