Our review
Lighter and cleaner than the live-action show, with friends who stay loyal and a girl who uses her power to save people. But it is still a monster show built to frighten, the kids break rules and break in as a lark, and God is nowhere in the picture. The real concern is the door it opens to the much darker original series.
For parents
For kids 13 and up: Netflix rated Season 1 TV-14, though Common Sense Media says 10. If your child wants to watch, say plainly that the live-action Stranger Things is not included. Ask: when is it right to break a rule? What makes Mike and his friends good friends?
