The Breadwinner

Our review
A clean, gentle comedy about a dad who learns how hard his wife's work at home really is. The best part is the ending. Nate stops covering his mistakes, apologizes to his wife in front of everyone, and the family is mended by honesty and forgiveness. The jokes mostly fall flat, the product placement is heavy, and a teen daughter's crush gets a little more attention than it needs.
For parents
For 13 and up, the strictest rating on file (OSV News A-II, for a few mild oaths and one sexual joke). Talk about the teen daughter dressing to catch a boy's eye, and the horse given as a bribe. Ask: why did Nate's lies make things worse? What work at home do we not notice?
