The Little House

Our review
A little house is built on a hill in the country, and she watches the seasons go by. Over many years the city grows all around her until she is crowded, dirty and sad. A great-great-granddaughter of the builder finds her and moves her back to the country. It honors faithfulness, a promise kept across generations and the slow beauty of the seasons. Nothing in it needs correcting. Age 7+, set by Lumen's read-alone age; Clarion says 4 to 7, so read it aloud from 4.
For parents
Age 7+, set by Lumen's read-alone age; Clarion says 4 to 7. Read it aloud from 4. The middle pages are sad as the house gets shabby, but it ends happily. Ask why the builder said never to sell her, and what a family promise means. Point out the seasons in each picture.
