The Parent Trap
Acceptable with guidance. Age: 6+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
Two twin girls meet at summer camp. They learn their parents split up long ago. They trade places and work to bring their mom and dad back together. The film ends with the parents together again, which fits the Church's teaching that marriage is for life. Common Sense Media sets the age at 6. Expect slapstick, smoking, drinking and two girls who lie to reach their goal.
For parents
Age 6+, set by Common Sense Media; it is rated G and no Legion of Decency rating was found. Expect slaps, slapstick, wine, cocktails and smoking. The twins deceive their parents. Ask: why is marriage meant to last for life? Was it right for the girls to lie, even for a good goal?
