Thérèse: The Story of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux
Recommended. Age: 13+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
This is a plain and loving portrait of the Little Flower, paid for by ordinary Catholics who love her. It shows a real girl who chose God in small things and suffered with trust. Her own words are heard on screen. The reservation is craft and depth. The film is stiff in places and only sketches the Little Way she taught.
For parents
For teens and up per the USCCB, though many families will share it with children around ten. A parent's death and her own illness are sad. Ask: what small thing could you do with great love today? Why did Thérèse offer her suffering to Jesus? Then read Story of a Soul together.
