Our review

Annette and Lucien are enemies in a Swiss mountain village. Lucien's anger leads to an accident that hurts Annette's little brother Dani, and Annette's anger makes things worse. Both children must learn to say sorry and to forgive. A warm Christian story about forgiveness, Recommended. Age 9, set by Lumen's own read-alone age.

For parents

Age 9, set by Lumen's own read-alone age (Bookroo says 8-12; no Common Sense Media or publisher age found). Read it aloud from 7. Annette's mother has died before the story begins. Lucien knocks Annette into a ditch in a sledging crash, and Dani breaks his leg falling into a ravine. An old man recalls drink, gambling, theft and prison. Ask: why was it so hard for Annette to forgive? Who do we need to forgive?
