A well-made sequel with a true center: a regime builds power on lies and fear, and two friends choose loyalty over comfort. But the heroine is a witch who casts spells, the bedroom scene between Fiyero and Elphaba is shown as sweet, and OSV News rates it for adults only. A parent whose teen is asking should say no.
For parents
Age 18+, set by the Catholic class A-III; Common Sense Media says 11+. If a teen has seen it, ask who gets to say who is wicked and who is good. Then talk about chastity (CCC 2348-2350) and why the Catechism calls fornication a grave offense against the dignity of persons and of sexuality (CCC 2353).
